Escapades from North Lambton

Off to see the Canyoneersmen at the Lass!!

Just finished reading ‘The Best and the Brightest’ by David Halberstam. An awesome book on US foreign policy and an American Iliad.

I have found tumblr again!

Its been a year but I finally remembered what my password was! Exciting things I did today in no particular order:

1. Laughed in Church - I’m definite going to hell (but the priest nailing pple with the holy water was hilarious).

2. Watched ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf - This is a film that makes you go ‘whoa’ and at the end your reaction is ‘what the fuck?’

3. Told my dad he should watch ‘Get him to the Greek’. I don’t know if this will be a popular move in the household.

4. Tomorrow I will try my hand at more blogging, uni applications and enjoying my bogans surroundings (the joys of Kempsey).

To commence tomorrow, the great thesis showdown!

Reading about African-Americans who fought for the Republicans during the Spanish Civil War…interesting

Just watched this short 5 minute video on Robert Fisk opinion on Afghanistan. Provides and very interesting regional perspective. You can’t solve Afghanistan until you deal with Kashmir.

Hurt Locker = Pretty Awesome film!!

Went and saw the Hurt Locker today. Finally a decent film about Iraq which gives an a-political observation of combat from a grunts eye view. Although not the most accurate depiction of counter-insurgency, still deserves an Oscar.
